"15,000 Test runs and 50 Test centuries are not beyond him" once Sunil Gavaskar said about legendary test batsman Alister cook who recently announced his retirement from international cricket. He scored 12472 runs in 161 test matches with the 33 centuries and 57 half centuries  Retirement of Alastair cook will increase the headache of England cricket board and team selection members.

In August 2012 former captain Andrew Strauss left out English team. After right through his retirement and till now England searching for his replacement. From the last 6 years, they even failed to replace Andrew Strauss. From 2012 English team management tried 11 opening batsman as a partner of  Alastair cook but still, no one can make their mark on the opening slot. They tried Nick Compton in 2012- 13 and in 2016, Michael Carberry played 6 test as opener unfortunately 5 of those against Australia in Ashes 2013 where Michel  Johnson and Ryan Harris was on fire. Sam Robson, Alex Hales, Ben Duckett, Haseeb handed are the some of the other players who open with Alastair Cook. Now after test series against India English team management must have to find out the replacement for Alastair Cook as well.

Frankly, from last one and half year cook was looking out of form. He was passed through a lot of criticisms. But I think it is not the right time to take retirement; performance in last test match will arise the question 'may cook can play for another 2 years at least?' England cricket team already has issues in middle order.  Now the absence of Alastair cook will become a nasty problem for England.

In his last test match, Cook scored a classy hundred and entertained his fans for last time. He hits 147 runs in 286 balls with 14 boundaries. This inning of cook literally feels that is it too early to say goodbye to English cricket team.

Alastair cook blessed with great technique, extraordinary temperament, and patience. Cook is the highest run scorer for england in Test cricket. It is never easy being a successful test opener in a country like England. In  English seaming condition where ball swings in both sides, it requires quality technique to survive, as test opener this makes cook as the 5th highest scorer in world cricket.

This is a sweet dish made from flour and dusted with powder sugar. Chirote is traditional Karnataka sweet that is prepared on special occasions and religious festivals. It is also very popular dessert in traditional Maharashtra cuisine and is called Chirote. 
Chirote
Ingredient: 
  • Maida : 2 cup
  • Ghee : 2 tbsp
  • Salt : Only for taste 
  • Rose Pink Color : Few drops
  • Sugar Powder : 1 tbs
  • Rice flour paste: 1 tbsp
  • oil or ghee: for frying

 How to make Chirote :
  • In a Maida add the ghee, salt and mix well.
  • Take out 1/3 rd portion of it separately and add few drops of rose pink color to it.
  • Take 3 portions of the kneaded dough. 1 in pink and the rest in white color.
  • Roll out the 3 kneaded dough. Brush the rotis with warm ghee and then spread the rice flour paste over it.
  • While doing this, Place the white roti at the bottom, then pink and then white.
  • Then roll the same gently using hands. Cut into small parts.
  • Then lightly roll all of them. Then fry the same on a medium flame.
  • Sprinkle the powder sugar or sugar syrup over the chirote.
  • The delicious and sweet, crunchy chirote are ready to be served. 
  • Store in an airtight container and they stay fresh for at least one week.

Raksha Bandhan 2018


What comes to your mind when you hear the word 'Raksha Bandhan'? Immediate you realize the brother and sister beautiful relationship. The beauty of the bond starts from the very childhood. The bonding is particularly wonderful and brother sister share a rainbow of feeling all through the times they spent time with each other. It is a popular festival in India. On this day sister tie, a thread called 'Rakhi' around the brother's wrist. She prays to God for the safety and healthy life of her brother and to lead him to the good path. The brother in return gives her gift and blesses her with good wishes and protect in every situation. The festival should not be celebrated as a formality but should be celebrated from the heart.

Raksha Bandhan is not for biologically related brother and sister it is also for those people who share the same love and bonding of a brother and sister. In school, we pledge that all Indians are my brother and sister. There are girls who we know, face many problems who need a brother figure to stand by her side and support her. There are many problems which are faced by the girls in our society, which happen in front of our eye and we can't do anything about it. Protecting them is our responsibility.


I am proud of the beauty and the culture of my country, India. But I am not proud of the fact that India has been named the most dangerous country in the world for women in a recent 'Thomson Reuters Foundation' survey. Today Women do not feel safe in our India every place. So today is 'Raksha Bandhan' at least we promise to yourself. We need to change the attitude of looking at the girls. It is said that you have to really and right celebrate 'Raksha Bandhan'.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was India's one of the greatest prime minister. They laid the foundation of good governance and taking good decisions throughout his PM career. Vajpayee ji had a great connection with cricket as well he was always in favor of bilateral series between India and Pakistan.

Indian cricket team had not been visited Pakistan since 1989 to play test cricket, in the same series Sachin Tendulkar made his international debut. In 1997 India went to Pakistan to play only ODI cricket. 

 In 2004 Indian tour of Pakistan has been planned according to ICC Schedule. But at the same time, the political relation between India and Pakistan was very poor. In 2004 Pervez Musharraf was Prime minister of Pakistan thus Indian government opposed the tour of Pakistan. At that time Lal Krishna was the Home Minister of India, LK Advani was too much against the tour by concerned with the security of Indian players and media.

 But Atal Bihari Vajpayee thinks different on Pakistan tour. He was the person who strongly believes that cricket is the only media which helps to improve the relationship between India and Pakistan. The tour which is nearly canceled that he makes possible. Vajpayee ji convinced LK Advani and home ministry of India then asked to BCCI about their interest for Pakistan tour and he successfully convinced his government and arranged the tour.

At the time Indian team takes off to Pakistan from Delhi airport, Vajpayee ji arranged a program and gave best wishes with the great message by writing on the bat; he writes in Hindi " Khel hi Nahi dil bhi jitihe! Shubhkamnaye " 


This was the tour where Virendra Sehwag become 'Sultan of Multan'. Viru hits 309 runs in 375 balls with 39 fours and 6 sixes. Indian captain Rahul Dravid made his highest score of his test career 270 runs with the help of 34 fours and only six. It was the first time where India won both Test and ODI series.

 Vajpayee ji was the only Indian prime minister who interferes in cricket and gives such wonderful opportunity to Indian players and Indian fans to celebrate the great victory.

Indian cricket team now suffering from a lot of criticisms due to poor performance in ongoing test series. India lost the Lord's test by an inning and 159 runs. Lack of preparation, poor team selection, and toss result are the main reasons behind the big defeat.

 Indian batsmen are going through their most miserable form. In both innings, openers were failed to give a big start. Murali Vijay and KL Rahul both look uncomfortable against English seamers, especially against James Anderson. Ajinkya rahane looks good, in both inning, he middled the ball well but can't able to convert into a big score. It(third test) could be the last chance for Ajinkya rahane to prove himself. Comeback boy Pujara also struggling to hide the gap between bat and pad.

Virat also failed to repeat the same that he does into the first test. Yes, it is difficult to perform in England in cloudy weather but they all had enough experience to handle such situations. But in the end, it happens when you visit the countries outside subcontinent no matter how much stronger you are.

 One and only positive aspect in these test series is Indian bowling. Without Bhuvi and Bumrah they bowled brilliantly. Bowlers were felt unlucky on the third day of a test match, they can't get enough help from the weather which England got on the 2nd day of a test match. In bright and sunny atmosphere English batters make it count and set  288 runs lead against India.

 Right now all the things going against team India. As a fan of Indian cricket, it was hard to digest but it needs to accept. You can't cross the boundary line every time. Even when Australia at their peak time they failed to win in England. Now it's our responsibility to support our team.

If you like to have a sandwich, then in this Independence Day special you can make Tri-color sandwich at home. An easy, quick and healthy sandwich recipe with represent with three colors of Indian Flag.


Ingredient :
  • White Bread Slice: 8
  • Cucumber slice: 4
  • Carrot grated: 1/2 cup
  • Butter: 1/2 cup
  • Ketchup: For teste 
  • Green Chutney: 3-4 tbsp
  • Salt: For teste
  • Black Pepper Powder

 How to Make Tri-color Sandwich:
  • Cut the sides of the bread. Apply the green chutney on it.
  • Add cucumber slices on one slice and apply butter on the other slice and place it on the first slice.
  • Take one more slice of bread to apply butter, ketchup, grated carrot, salt, black pepper powder and cover it with the slice of bread.
  • Cut the sandwich into half forming Triangle.

The bread roll is a very easy and simple recipe. These make a good tea time snack or for any party. These can be made from minimum ingredients. Do try this deliciously easy recipe and impress your family and kids.

     Ingredients:
  • Potatoes   - 4 
  • Bread Slices - 10 
  • Water- as required
  • salt - for taste
  • Ginger-Garlic-Green chili paste-1 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder -1/4 tbsp  
  • Coriander leaves
  • Hing-1/4 tbsp
  • Oil-For deep frying 

   How to Make Crispy Bread Rolls:
How to Make Bread Roll
  • First, boil the potatoes and mash them with a potato masher.
  • Heat up oil in a pan. Add ginger garlic green chili paste, thing and last turmeric powder. 
  • Add mashed potato, coriander, and salt (For taste). Mix well all ingredient properly.
  • Take the bread slices and slice off the side crusts.  
  •  Take water in a bowl. Dip one bread slice in the water.
  • Do not use much water just moisten it.
  • Make sure the bread stays intact and does not break. So press gently.
  • Place the prepared potato stuffing on bread slice.
  • Seal all roll edges and make a nice roll. Keep it aside.
  • These rolls are deep fry on oil. Fry till rolls on golden brown.
  • Place the crispy bread rolls on kitchen paper to remove extra oil.
  • You can serve crispy bread roll with sauce or any chutney.

Gulab Jamun is an Indian sweet dish which, Indian peoples love to eat. Indian peoples celebrate many festivals with Gulab Jamun. 

Gulab Jamun
Ingredients:
  • Gits Gulab Jamun pack: 1 pack
  • Sugar: 2 cup
  • Water: 3 cup
  • Oil or Ghee: for deep frying
  • Milk: 1/2 cup
  • Kesar: 1-2 gm.

 How to make Gulab Jamun:
  • Firstly, in a pan take 2 cup sugar and 3 cup water.
  • Add kesar and continually stir for 10 min.
  • The sugar syrup is ready.
  • Now take Gits Gulab Jamun mix in mixing bowl and add slightly warm milk for dough.
  • Make the soft and smooth dough.
  • Make small balls greasing ghee to hand.
  • Make sure there are no cracks on bolls.
  • These bolls are deep fry on ghee or oil. 
  • Fry till the bolls on golden brown.
  • Immediately, drop the frying Jamun bolls into the sugar syrup. Rest for 30 min.
  • The Gulab Jamun has in doubled size.
  • Finally, Gits instant Gulab Jamun is ready to serve.

Every cricket experts and most of the ex-cricketers repeated that Virat Kohli is the key player in upcoming test series against England. Really no doubt about their judgment but only Virat can't win the test series for India; definitely other batsmen need to take responsibility and someone like Ajinkya Rahane is the best candidate to take the load on his shoulder.  The Indian test team vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane who is the backbone of Indian batting lineup whenever India visiting countries outside the subcontinent. Ajinkya also eager to roar and back in his classy touch.

Ajinkya Rahane's performance will be vital to India's success on England soil. Indians need to post 400+ runs on the scoreboard to put pressure on England and win the every single test match and only Virat can't manage those 400-500 runs.

 Ajinkya is going through a most miserable patch in his six-year international career. Last test series against Sri Lanka he scored only 17 runs in 5 innings he played due to bad form against Lanka he dropped from playing 11 against South Africa in first 2 test matches but in the last match, he hits a match-winning 48 runs in tough condition. Recently against Afghanistan who played Thier first ever test match where India registered the biggest win in Indian test history by an inning and 262 runs but here as well the Captain Ajinkya Rahane only manage to get 10 runs .but now is the time to bounce back stronger, he scored 48 and 49 runs for India A in both innings against England Lions.

 India's last tour of England of 5 test match series where India won an only single test match at lords and here Ajinkya smashes quality hundred with 103 runs on a green seaming track. Ajinkya Rahane played best of his cricket on bouncy and seaming conditions. He really wants to repeat his quality punch again in upcoming England series.

England selectors added 2 quality spinners for the 1st test match against India. The whole of England is now suffering by heat this summer, due to high temperature, England pitches behave like Indian pitches. they definitely got a turn from the 3rd day of the test match and Ajinkya is struggling a lot against spin these days. There are lots of negatives which he wants to improve in England test series and make grand test series for him.

 I personally feel that Ajinkya Rahane is going to rock in upcoming England test series.
